Interesting new search engines

There was a recent interesting article in the New York Times describing some new, unusual search engines:

"Search engines are so powerful. And they are so pathetically weak. ... When it comes to digging up a specific name, date, phrase or price, search engines are unstoppable. The same is true for details from the previously concealed past. For better and worse, any information about any of us..." (from New York Times)

None of them blows me away, but in case these are useful or of interest:

Still no go Pito.Tried what you said.Went back to Java.com;copy was verified as perfect.Yet can't use the kink.Only way to get to you is to click that link you sent me.No more complaints, will just have to leave it alone.left puter on all night but today had to reboot for some updates and my reader was right back to the error screen,Grrrrr.

I also just came across this one today:

One of the more interesting ones I've seen. There are a bunch of blog search engines specifically focused on searching blogs. However, there is definitely a difference between RSS and blogs, but they are often intermingled. I have yet to see a search engine look at RSS usage as a way of creating a personalized search engine based on how people interact with the web.

I think out of that list I like Vivimio the best. Both clusty and visimo are neat clustering engines...
