OpenAI to acquire Astral | OpenAI

Linked is the bad news that one of the most prolific and smart open source development teams is being acquired. I don't begrudge Astral wanting a payout for all the work they have essentually donated. But "small company acquired by big company" does not seem to end well very often. Big company digests small company and all the things that small company was proud of are lost forever.
