Look for our BlogBridge Release 5.0 in the next several days. You will get automatically updated, so just sit back and enjoy it. When we actually release it we will also post to this blog with some pointers to the highlights of the new release. Also, I will be attending O’Reilly Emerging Technology Conference (aka “ETECH”) in San Diego (USA) next week and will be getting together a meetup or BOF of BlogBridge users and others with an interest. If you want to join me in San Diego, please send me an email, and I will get in touch with the where and when.
I just stumbled (get it?) across this: > “Hewlett-Packard announced Thursday that it plans to acquire start-up Tabblo, citing an interest in the photo-sharing site’s technology that facilitates printing from the Web.” (from C|Net News) Nice going guys!
Check out this post from Consumerist: > uy has confirmed the existence of a second "secret" website that looks identical to BestBuy.com, but has different prices and i...
Useful and interesting information from Google for Webmasters. Chec out this post from Google Operating System: > Google Webmaster Central shows the most popular 100 phrases used by other sites to link to your site. If you go to Statistics / Page analysis, you’ll find a list of anchor phrases, obtained by removing punctuations. Google’s algorithms use those keywords to understand a page better. I’ve been a member of Costco for years. Yeah, you always buy more stuff there than you intended, but it’s so much fun! I uncovered today that Costco also has great discounts for travel, rental cars in particular. If you are not part of a big corporate program, call Costco Travel, ask for your rental car company, and you get connected to their ‘Costco Desk’ (is it a real desk?). Anyway, the point is I got a real nice discount over what the default Hertz web siteprice or Kayak deal was. Just a LifeHack for you.
Daylife is a new news oriented web site that came onto the scene a little while back to a lot of fanfare. I’ve used it on and off and it’s ok. It’s certainly a lot prettier to look at than things like Google News. Daylife’s emphasis on d...
On Mac, I’ve been using only FireFox for a while now. But lately I’ve seen some things that have made me nervous. More than once I’ve seen FireFox peg the CPU for no apparent reason. Recently I had bad experiences with the latest latest release of the del.icio.us add-in. So I decided to scan for the...
Isaac Asimov was a visonary don’t you think? > “South Korea’s obsession with technology has led it to consider what may be the first government-backed ethical code for robots.” (from The Telegraph)
I am a die-hard Tivo user. Yesterday I stumbled across mention that TivoTogo now worked on Macs, so the promise of watching Tivo’d content on my iPod led me to waste a couple of hours trying to get it to work. I am not sure yet, but it looks like TivoTogo is disabled on Tivo Series 3. It’s kind of h...
Dave Winer says it well (as usual): “Here’s another reason why WordPress is so popular — they belong to Ye Old Schoole of Shitty Software …snip]” (Read “WordPress is shitty software”)
Really interesting article which asks whether a recent incident on an Americann Airlines flight in fact was a terrorist dry run: > “[…snip] This is not meant to scare, but it probably will. Consider yourself informed and warned that the threat is real. This crew reported that they were not prepared that something of this nature could be happening to them. […snip]” (from “American Airlines Flight 62: A terrorist probe?”)
I was glad to see that the FireFox add-in for del.icio.us was revised to combine the features of the ‘old one’ with the features of the ‘new one’. That’s good. Unfortunately it looks to me like the new and improved plug-in is still a bit buggy, sending FireFox into a tailspin – window activation weirdnesses, apparent loops hogging the CPU. I look forward to the next rev, because the concept is right on.
This looks kind of neat – check out this post from Lifehacker: > Web site Just One Club Card lets you condense up to 8 different discount club cards onto one front-and-ba...
